“I’m not a news source”: Texas official defends his Facebook fake news posts

Should we just end the competition and give the 2017 Joseph Gobbles Post-Truth Award to Texas Agricultural Commissioner Sid Miller right now?

I mean hands-down this guy has nailed it. Lies are Truth. Truth is Fiction. Facts are Lies. And he has no responsibility for any of it.

Mr. Miller has 330,000 followers on Facebook. My God he’s the mayor of his own virtual city! Not only does he not recognize the power of his own pulpit but he excuses the dissemination of fake news this way… “Y’all are holding me to the same standards as you would a news organization, and it’s just Facebook.”

“It’s like Fox News,” Sid Miller told an Austin radio station. “I report, you decide if it’s true or not”

Does Mr. Miller realize that in thirteen simple words… “It’s like Fox News. I report, you decide if it’s true or not”… he has just called an entire major news network a ‘fake news’ broadcaster? He clearly doesn’t believe everything he hears on Fox News is true and he should know. He’s an expert in the ‘Lies are Truth’ game too!

Whew! What an incredible nominee for the Joseph Gobbles Post-Truth Award. The clear favorite by a country mile. This one’s going to be hard to beat.
